On 24 March 2025, Assoc. Prof. Tiryaki appeared on the Slovak Television and Radio’s program Rádiožurnál o 12, where she spoke about the recent mass protests in Istanbul after the arrest of the Mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu.
Assoc. Prof. Tiryaki’s latest article “Vplyv žien na efektívnosť mierových misií OSN” [The Impact of Women on the Effectiveness of UN Peacekeeping Missions] has been published in the journal Bezpečnostní teorie a praxe [Security Theory and Practice], a scholarly periodical of the Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague.
The article explores the role of women in UN peacekeeping operations and examines how their presence influences the success and sustainability of peace processes. The research highlights the importance of gender diversity in security strategies and its positive impact on peacekeeping missions.
