Sylvia Tiryaki attended the German-Turkish Think-Tank Forum which was organized by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and TESEV between September 29-30, 2005. The forum was held in Istanbul and Sylvia Tiryaki actively participated in the panel on Cyprus, Turkey and the EU with a presentation.
Turkey as an Opportunity and a Challenge for the EU
Sylvia Tiryaki attended a panel discussion entitled “Turkey as an opportunity and a challenge for the European Union” as a speaker on September 20, 2004. The event was organized by Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA) and Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.
The German Marshall Fund of the United States organized an event entitled “Cyprus and the Annan Plan – A briefing by the TESEV Working Group on Cyprus” on 7-13 March 2005. Sylvia Tiryaki participated in the meeting with a presentation on the legal analysis of the Annan Plan.
Sylvia Tiryaki joined a lunch discussion entitled “What is next for Cyprus?” on March 9, 2005. The event was organized by the Center on the United States and Europe at The Brookings Institution and Heinrich Böll Foundation. The experts discussed the following issues: Cyprus’ impacts on the EU-Turkey relations and the future of the Annan Plan.
